The expert is a Fellow of the Health Information and Management Systems Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is dually board-certified in Clinical Informatics and Family Medicine. He received his MD degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and earned both, an MPH in International Health and an MBA in Medical Services Management, from Johns Hopkins University. He completed postgraduate training in Family Medicine at Rush University and Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins.

He is a physician executive leader with demonstrated success in delivering complex healthcare “firsts” in the US & overseas. A leading voice in the field, he lends expertise to pioneering healthcare public, private, & humanitarian organizations on transformative care delivery paradigms and operating models that leverage emerging technologies, digital health, and data to achieve quadruple aims and reduce inequities and disparities.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the integrative and functional medicine space, the expert is committed to advancing a data-driven approach to the prevention and reversal of chronic illnesses. He is the founder and president of the California Center for Functional Medicine (CCFM), which provides personalized, precision medicine care. CCFM is known for its comprehensive and data-driven approach in treating complex chronic conditions and has supported first responders with health and wellness programs since 2016.

He founded the Functional Medicine Research and Technology Center in 2021, focusing on chronic illness research, education, and innovation. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a full scholarship for medical school at the University of California, Irvine, where he helped build and scale the complementary and alternative medicine curriculum. While completing his family medicine residency at the UCSF Santa Rosa Family Practice Program, he established the residency’s Integrative Medicine Fellowship.

An active medical educator and researcher, he holds an adjunct faculty position at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has published articles on botanical medicines for tickborne infections. Board-certified in family practice and integrative and holistic medicine. He is an advisor for health and tech nonprofits, organizations, and startups.

The Expert is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and hospitalist with extensive experience managing high-acuity acute care patients in hospital settings. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine (DABFM) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). Her clinical expertise includes hospital medicine, sepsis recognition and management, transitions and escalation of care, discharge planning, hospital-acquired conditions, failure to diagnose, delayed diagnosis, chronic disease management, medication management, and coordination of care across multidisciplinary treatment teams.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2017 and completed her Family Medicine residency training at the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Alabama in 2020. With six years of clinical experience, she has practiced in diverse healthcare systems across the United States and has held affiliations with leading academic and community hospitals, including a prior staff affiliation with Stanford University. Her expertise encompasses both inpatient hospital medicine and primary care standards of care, providing a comprehensive perspective on patient management across the continuum of care.

The Expert is a board-certified Family Physician with more than 25 years of clinical experience spanning urgent care, family medicine, emergency medicine, residency education, and military medicine. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency training at Madigan Army Medical Center. Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 2003 and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, she currently practices full-time in urgent care, providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Her clinical expertise includes acute illness management, musculoskeletal injuries, cardiovascular evaluation, mental health assessment, laceration repair, splinting, foreign body removal, gynecologic procedures, toenail procedures, and interpretation of EKGs and radiologic studies. Throughout her career, she has practiced full-spectrum family medicine, including outpatient and inpatient care, women’s health, pediatrics, geriatrics, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and a wide range of office-based and procedural interventions.

In addition to her extensive clinical background, The Expert served as an active-duty Army physician and deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where she provided emergency, trauma, and acute care to military personnel and civilians. She has also practiced as a rural emergency medicine physician and held multiple academic and teaching appointments, mentoring residents, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. Recognized for excellence in medical education with multiple Teacher of the Year awards, she has contributed to residency training programs and academic medicine throughout her career. Her experience further includes participation in hospital case review, ethics, pharmacy, and quality improvement committees, as well as authorship of peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations. Her professional background combines broad clinical expertise, procedural proficiency, military service, physician education, and multidisciplinary collaboration across urgent care, primary care, emergency medicine, and academic medicine.
