The expert is a distinguished expert in sensory neurophysiology within the urogenital region, renowned nationally for her groundbreaking contributions. Formerly an associate professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, she brings nearly two decades of experience from the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. She currently serves as adjunct faculty in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and UNC’s Center for Pain Research and Innovation.

Recognized for her leadership in women’s health research, she was awarded "The Medtronic Prize for Scientific Contributions to Women's Health" by S.W.H.R in 2011. As a founding member and medical director of UNC’s Urogenital Pain and peripheral nerve clinic, she pioneered nerve sparing surgical techniques and peripheral neuromodulation.

She offers specialized clinical services for patients with urogenital pain following surgery, childbirth, and in association with various medical conditions including IBD, autoimmune disorders, and dermatological manifestations. The expert is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with over two decades of experience in both private practice and hospital-based care. Since 2005, she has served patients in Pleasanton, California, with hospital privileges at Eden Medical Center, Alta Bates Medical Center, and Good Samaritan Hospital, while also providing labor and delivery coverage for Stanford University Medical Partners.

 

She holds an active California medical license and is a current Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her educational background includes a medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, postgraduate training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Columbia University, and a fellowship in Women’s Health and Clinical Research at UCSF. She has also held attending positions at Alameda County Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente and contributed extensively as a locum tenens OB/GYN across several California hospitals.

Her academic and humanitarian contributions are equally distinguished. She has authored peer-reviewed research on obstetric fistulas, hormone therapy, cervical cancer, and refugee women’s health, and has received awards for her clinical service and medical research. She has worked internationally in Sierra Leone and Vietnam, training healthcare professionals, establishing sterile surgical practices, and advancing women’s health systems. Recognized for her clinical excellence, including a recent Physician of the Month award at Eden Medical Center, the expert brings a depth of medical knowledge, teaching experience, and cultural competence to her expert witness work. Her testimony is grounded in current practice, academic rigor, and compassionate care.

The expert is a board-certified OBGYN specialist with extensive expertise in medical and surgical gynecology and comprehensive obstetrical care. As the Medical Director of Women's Services at Sutter Lakeside Hospital and a Northern Inyo Healthcare District provider, she is well-versed in various aspects of women's health. Holding a DO from the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences and a Master's in Healthcare Administration, her experience includes roles at Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods and private practice.

She is also a dedicated educator, serving as a preceptor for NP and PA students and teaching with the UCSF Family Medicine Residency Program.
